Session Awards
Awarded at the end of each completed session throughout the competition
- Performance Awards:
- Every dancer in all categories will receive a commemorative medal recognizing their achievement.
- Stand-out Awards:
- At the end of each session our judges will give out 4 stand-out awards. These are not be based on marks, but rather uniqueness in performances and choreography.
Overall Awards
Awarded for each division (Novice, Pre-Competitive, and Competitive) where there are two or more qualifying entries (and one or more for pee-wee/mini).
- Overall by Performance Size:
- Overall awards are distributed by category, age group and performance size (e.g. Novice Junior Duo/Trio). Entries listed as Performance or Professional (category) or Adult (age) are not eligible to receive overall awards.
- Solos and Soloists (more than 1 solo) are adjudicated separately in overalls. For the Junior age group and above, if there are less than 3 Soloists in a category, the dancers will be moved into the Solo category for overalls and their highest score will be used.
- Line and Extended Line entries will be awarded joint overalls.
- High Score by Discipline:
- Dream to Dance will present a High Score trophy award in each of the dance disciplines: Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical etc. Entries listed as Performance or Professional (category) or Adult (age) are not eligible to receive overall awards.
- Division High Score:
- Overall High Score Awards will be presented to performers who achieve the top three scores of the division. Competitive Solos, Soloists, Duets/Trios, Groups and Productions are all eligible for this award. Cash scholarships will be awarded to first place. There must be a minimum of 10 entries in the category to receive cash prizes and a minimum of two entries for an overall award. Entries listed as Performance or Professional (category) or Adult (age) are not eligible to receive overall awards.
Judges’ Choice Awards
Awarded at the end of each division (Novice, Pre-Competitive, and Competitive)
- Most Potential:
- Judges select a dancer or group of dancers from each age division who they feel so great potential in their dance development
- Choreography:
- This award, chosen by the judges, will be presented at each awards session to a teacher/choreographer based on outstanding work.
- Costume:
- Based on outstanding costuming, this trophy award will be presented to a performance that the judges choose.
- Light Up the Stage:
- Judges select a dancer or group of dancers they felt had stand-out stage presence
- Scholarships:
- Dream to Dance will be awarding some dancers with other awards including scholarships to workshops, conventions and more… (based on availability; awarded in Pre-Competitive and Competitive divisions)
Dream to Dance Exclusive Awards
- Ultimate Dream to Dance:
- Dream to Dance will present this award to the highest scoring studio in our Pre-Competitive and Competitive Divisions based on the average of up to their top 35 entries. To qualify studios must have a minimum of 10 entries, 5 of which must be small/large groups. No more than 5 solos are counted in the average. Entries listed as Performance or Professional (category) or Adult (age) or Production (size) are not included in the qualifying entries for the Ultimate Dream to Dance award.
- Live Your Dream:
- At each of our events we acknowledge a dancer that displays a passion for dance, commitment through adversity, and is an all-around positive influence in their studio and community. The cash award is intended to be used to pay for dance lessons, either retroactively or in an upcoming season
